The newly appointed President of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria and former Lagos State Commissioner for Justice, Alhaji Adeniji Kazeem, SAN, said the current socioeconomic hardship in the country is a divine test of Nigerians’ faith and spirituality.

Speaking at a celebration and appreciation dinner organised in his honour by the Lekki Muslim Ummah (LEMU) and LEMU Schools in Lagos, Alhaji Kazeem noted that many Nigerians are facing severe trials, which are challenging their belief in Allah and shaking their spiritual foundation.

He acknowledged that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is making effort to correct the deep-rooted problems inherited from past governments. However, he admitted that the process has come with painful adjustments for the populace.

“We are in trying times. While some may argue things are improving, others feel the situation is worsening. Regardless, these changes are testing people’s faith.

“In moments of distress—whether economic, domestic, or personal—some begin to question the existence of Allah. This is why spiritual guidance is essential,” Kazeem said.

He stressed that the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society, as an Islamic organisation, has a crucial role in offering both spiritual and social support to Muslims who feel overwhelmed by present challenges. 

Alhaji Kazeem appealed to Nigerians to remain patient and steadfast, reminding them that enduring hardship with faith is part of the trials of life prescribed in Islam. He also called on leaders to lead with transparency and perseverance.

The President of LEMU, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Labinjo, praised Kazeem for his exemplary character, describing him as a principled and resourceful Muslim leader.
