McMahon who spoke to our reporter on the sidelines of the recently held Lagos Architects Forum (LAF), explained that incorrect woodwork and installation are the cause of most of the leakages that occur in homes and buildings in the country.
In his words: “The problem I’ve come across is the way the roofs get laid; the lining positioning; the intersection points of the roof, which means gutters; the ridge lines and junctions on the roof need a lot of improvement. This is the reason roofs leak. We believe that it’s only by improving the capacity of carpenters and installers that we can stop leakages, no matter how good the tiles are.”
McMahon who addressed architects at the forum on the uniqueness of the products his company offers said there are excellent architects, engineers and project managers in the country.
He commended carpenters and installers on the interest and enthusiasm they have shown in learning from him and upping their skills.
