Why the best are led from behind
Why the best are led from behind

I am amazed daily to find out that the people whose background is full of controversies and with loads of questionable past hold sway on our political space.

I am constantly caught in the web of thought as to why the very rejected and rejectionable entity are presiding over our affairs and dictate how the life of the well nurtured, good nature and well cultured are conducted.

The situation was so saddening that the “rejected” and the “devilish” got endorsements of those who cast the devils. Most time no free things in free town. The collared and turbaned mind not blood money for endorsement.

The custodian of tradition now rushed to give royal blessings to known “criminals” and “devil incarnate” in the garb of politics. The Omoluabi ethoes and integrity is giving way for blood money.

Are we not here when a party presented escaped-drug baron in a gateway state? Little did we know until death open up Pandora box.  People with dead conscience.

In a state in the oil rich Niger Delta, a London returnee ex- convict is sharing political anointment.

The full implications of this is that the brilliant, righteous and morally conscious are now barred psychologically as those who told us it is good to be good are telling us again, “you can be bad and be our king so far money is involved.”

Those who call us to tradition of integrity and virtues are now tossing irukere at the people who once terrorised the neighborhood. Money answered all calls.

The message passed is very heavy and highly impacting. It has long lasting implications on current and coming generation.

The good natured and well cultured need not abandoned the space to the turning stick who can turn anything.

We must make practical all preaching and all talking. All plans must not end as rhetoric but actionable strides.

Our affairs is to be better than this if we will not claim righteousness and stay in the cathedral and mosque only to preach. The righteousness as claimed must shine  on the political sky. The goodness must  reflect on our economy. The acclaimed good virtues must impact on our social life.

The very brilliant analyst should be prepared to take their analysis beyond academic discourse and go and display best of thought and finest of implementations. Now is the time. Difficult will our affairs remains if the worst and rejected lead the best but cowardly
