The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said it increased the number of polling units in Lagos from 8000 to 13,325 to ensure there are no more than 700 voters at a polling unit.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner in Lagos, Mr Olusegun Agbaje, stated this during a media workshop organised by the Taipei Trade Office in Nigeria.

He said after registering 585,000 new voters, the commission detected multiple registrations and 85 slots were expunged from the register.
The state currently tops in the number of registered voters with 7,075, 192, followed by Kano.
Represented by the Head of Voters’ Education in the state INEC, Mrs Adenike Tadese, the commissioner assured that the 2023 election is not going to be business as usual, saying INEC had put in place several measures to ensure free and fair election.
The REC also tasked the media to assist INEC in curbing vote buying, noting that as the commission was curbing the menace of vote buying, “the political class is sabotaging us.”
