As a stakeholder in the joint project called Nigeria, I want to call on Nigerians, irrespective of political affiliations to be patient with President Muhammadu Buhari as he and his team are determined to move the country forward.
We need to pray and contribute our quota towards the development of the country, as nothing good comes easy.
There is no government policy that is acceptable to all. Nigeria has been in doldrums for years, yet we expect changes within a few months of the administration! Nigerians should stop criticizing and fighting the government. We can see sincerity of purpose in this administration and I’m sure Nigeria will be better for it in the next few years.
Nigerians need to also support the president in his fight against corruption and insecurity. I make bold to say that Nigeria is suffering from self-induced poverty, brought upon the people by successive leadership. It is sad that despite the abundant natural and human resources, there is no stable power supply, roads across the country are in terrible shape, hospitals not fully equipped, unemployment is on the increase, and so on. But I think this administration means well for Nigerians and that is why it’s taking time to do things right.
Also Nigerians, irrespective of their religion, should be obedient to the word of God, obey rules and regulations that govern us in the country. Just as I call on parents to train their children properly, I call on religious leaders to always pray for the nation’s leaders, so that they will be able to perform. I call on President Buhari to encourage state governments, the private sector, and individuals to explore means through which the economy can be diversified.
