A group of newly elected members of the House of Representatives under the aegis of ‘New Vision Nigeria,’ said they endorse Mukhtar Aliyu Betara for the 10th National Assembly speakership because of his plans to champion the cause of Nigerians.
Arising from a consultative meeting in Gombe, leader of the group Ismail Dabo, a member-elect for Toro Federal Constituency of Bauchi State, said the newly elected members-elect are supporting Betara because “he is the best and most qualified candidate among those vying for the seat.”
He explained that the ‘New Vision Nigeria’ is a group of elected lawmakers under various political parties in the country, with a mission to improve the living standard of Nigerians by addressing economic issues and other challenges.
Dabo added that, “Nigerians are already going through a lot and so many people are suffering. Therefore, we are coming together to work for Nigerians through effective oversight function and lawmaking.”

He stated that the group had been visiting regions and geo-political zones across the country, to consult with other members and spread the message of Betara’s agenda.
“Before we concluded on supporting Mukhtar Betara to be the new speaker of the 10th Assembly, we invited all the contestants to share with us what they have for the assembly and country.
“We have checked their trajectory, track record, and all that is there to check, as we speak Betara is the only candidate that appears to be the best of them all. So, we the members-elect have decided that we are going for Betara,” Dabo said.
