A widow, Amina Abdulwahab, on Thursday asked a shari’a court in Magajin Gari, Kaduna, to recover N100, 000 from a land agent.

 The complainant, who resides in the Kaduna Millennium city, said she gave Idris Mami N300, 000 to buy a plot of land for her children.

 She said failure to purchase the land, Mami gave her back N200, 000 but refused to give her the balance of N100, 000.

Amina said all efforts made by her to recover the remaining balance failed.

 In his defence, the defendant, who was represented by his counsel, B.M. Saeed, denied liability, saying all allegations were untrue.

 “My client gave the complainant all her money,” the counsel said.

 The judge, Malam Murtala Nasir, asked the complainant to produce witnesses, and adjourned the matter until Jan. 13 for its continuation. (NAN)
