Safiya Hassan Yakasai, a widow, has taken two of her late husband’s brothers to court over the alleged disappearance of a bag containing valuable documents after her husband’s death.

She informed the court that the bag, allegedly taken by Abdussalam Bello and Abdul Kareem Bello, contained important papers, including landed property documents and other official records.

According to the widow, it has been over a year and a half since the incident, and she has yet to receive any explanation or see the missing documents. She stated that she and her late husband had nine children together, and the documents are considered crucial for her family’s well-being.

One of the defendants told the court that their brother (the second defendant) is currently ill and bedridden, and would only be able to respond to the claims once he recovers and can appear in court.

Presiding over the matter, Khadi Abdu Abdullahi Wayya, directed the police to investigate the allegations and file a separate case with the appropriate court of jurisdiction.
