Widows of the recent mayhem that claimed the lives of about 40 Tiv farmers and displaced over 5,000 people in Nasarawa State have cried out for help.
The incident happened on December 17, 2021, when suspected herdsmen attacked 12 communities of Chabo, Daar, Tse-Udugh, Ayaakeke, Kyor-Chiha, Usula, Hagher, Joor, Tyungu, Ugba, Angwan and Ayaba, in Awe and Obi LGAs of the state.

Our correspondent learnt that the killing was a reprisal over the alleged murder of a Fulani man on Chabo community road in Obi LGA by yet to be identified gunmen, but which his kinsmen alleged was perpetrated by Tiv farmers.
When our correspondent visited the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp at Central Primary School, Imon, Obi LGA on Sunday, he observed many Tiv farmers sitting idly, while others were seeking assistance to feed on motorists and commuters plying the road.
Laurencia Soja and Christiana Soja are co-wives, who expressed worry over the untimely death of their husband, Nyantya Soja, allegedly killed by seven gun-wielding herdsmen who invaded their home in Imon community in Obi LGA.
Laurencia, who spoke for the family said: “I have nine children while my co-wife has four. Our late husband was into buying and selling fish and that was our only means of livelihood. Now that he is dead, I don’t know how we would survive.
