The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, on Thursday flagged off the construction of Arterial Road N1, connecting Wuye District to Ring Road II. 

Wike assured residents that the project would be completed on schedule and would boost economic activities in the capital city.

During the ceremony, Wike emphasized that the road is not a personal project but one intended to benefit all residents of Abuja and beyond. 

“This road is not my road. It is not Wike’s road,” he said. “It is a road that will open up economic activities and improve the welfare of the people here.”

The Minister reiterated his commitment to accountability and performance, stating that he would not tolerate excuses or delays. 

Wike urged the contracting company, Arab Contractors, to speed up work on the Wuye Ring Road II corridor and other major projects, including the Airport Road and the new Court of Appeal Division.
