The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, in Bauchi State, has conducted primary elections across the 12 federal constituencies in the state.
The Chairman of the House of Representatives Primary Electoral Committee for Bauchi State, Alhaji Ali Ibrahim, announced the results while addressing journalists at the party secretariat in Bauchi.
He stated: “Following the screening and clearance of aspirants by the National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, the duly cleared aspirants were presented to delegates and party members for affirmation in accordance with the Constitution of the Party and the Electoral Guidelines, 2026.”
Ibrahim added, “At the conclusion of the affirmation exercise, the delegates unanimously affirmed the following candidates as the duly nominated candidates of the party for the respective House of Representatives seats in the forthcoming 2027 General Elections. I hereby announce the results of the party’s primary elections conducted by affirmation on 17th May, 2026 across the various federal constituencies in Bauchi State.”

Umar – Toro Federal Constituency, Abubakar Usman – Ganjuwa/Darazo Federal Constituency, Idris Yusuf Duguri – Alkaleri/Kirfi Federal Constituency and Abdullahi Musa Tela – Zaki Federal Constituency

Meanwhile, one of the aspirants for the Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency of Bauchi State, Godfrey Manasseh Marti, has rejected the outcome of the party’s primary election conducted on Sunday, declaring that no such exercise took place in the area.
Marti made this declaration while addressing journalists on Monday in reaction to the results announced by Ali Ibrahim, the Chairman of the committee that conducted the primaries in the state.
The briefing was titled: “Unlawful Denial of Right to Participate in the PDP Primary for Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency.”
Addressing reporters, Marti said, “I stand before you today as a loyal member of the Peoples Democratic Party and an aspirant for the House of Representatives seat for Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency. I have called this briefing to publicly address the unlawful denial of my right to participate in the PDP primaries held for our constituency.”

He therefore demanded the immediate reversal of his exclusion and his inclusion as a cleared aspirant for the primaries, noting that he was privileged to have seen a copy of a formal report clearing him.

He called on the PDP National Chairman, the NWC, the Bauchi State PDP leadership, and the Board of Trustees to intervene urgently, adding that, ”Justice delayed in our constituency is justice denied to the people.”
