The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has called on Christian residents in Abuja to embrace peace, unity and good neighbourliness as they celebrate Christmas.
In his 2025 Christmas message to FCT residents, the minister described the festive season as “a season of joy, giving, sharing and good neighbourliness,” urging Christians to use the occasion for sober reflection and to share goodwill with fellow residents.
He enjoined the residents to use the occasion to “reflect and rededicate themselves to the virtues of love, unity and peace, which are the recurrent themes of the message of Jesus Christ.”
The minister stressed that: “The occasion offers us a unique opportunity to pray for our leaders, and indeed, our country, Nigeria, that we may enjoy peace and progress in the coming years.”
He expressed gratitude to the residents for their cooperation with the FCT Administration (FCTA) throughout the year, noting that 2025 witnessed “monumental developments” across the territory.
These achievements, he noted, included the renovation of schools, equipping of hospitals, construction of roads and bridges and strengthening of security.
