Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has called on the Federal Government to as a matter of urgency fix the collapsed section of the East-West road.

He made the call at a one- day sensitization seminar for the South-South Zone organized by the Federal Character Commission in Port Harcourt.

The governor, represented by his deputy, Dr (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo, expressed displeasure that the road was not mentioned among those that need attention by representative of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

The SGF Alhaji Boss Mustapha who spoke through Mr Alex Aguda said the seminar was organized to sensitize stakeholders on the mandate of the Federal Character Commission to ensure equity, fairness and justice to promote even development and national integration.

The Acting Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission, Dr Shettima Bukar Abba, said the 1999 Constitution and the Federal Character Commission’s enabling Act gave it mandate of ensuring fair and equitable distribution of posts in the Public Service.
