The Technical Adviser of Wikki Tourists of Bauchi, Kabiru Dogo, has resigned his appointment with immediate effect.

The former coach of Nasarawa United and Lobi Stars tendered his resignation letter to the management of the club yesterday citing undue interference and lack of support as main reasons for leaving his position.

It will be recalled that following the poor run of Wikki Tourists in the ongoing season, the gaffer and members of his technical crew were given a two-match ultimatum to improve the fortunes of the club or be sacked.

After recording only one draw out of four matches played so far, Wikki Tourists are last on the Group B table.

Dogo, however, said he was not responsible for the poor performance of the club.

In his letter of resignation, he said “I also wish to state here for a record purpose and for the club, its fans and other stakeholders of the club that at no time was I issued an ultimatum by the club management.

“I only got to learn about such information from social media and other third parties and for this reason, amongst other reasons, I tender my resignation.”

While expressing his profound appreciation to the Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed and the Chief Imam of Bauchi, Dogo demanded payment of all his unpaid entitlements and those of his assistants and driver.

When contacted, the Media Officer of the club, Nasiru Kobi, confirmed Dogo’s resignation and said the management had accepted it and wished the coach well in his future endeavours.
