Wikki Tourists have expressed confidence that they will return stronger in the second stanza of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The Bauchi Elephants concluded the first round with five wins, eight draws, and six defeats from 19 matches, leaving them 14th on the NPFL table with 23 points.

“We remain committed to coming back stronger and giving our fans more reasons to cheer in the remainder of the season,” Wikki Tourists stated on Tuesday.

As part of preparations for the second stanza, the team has embarked on a five-day mid-season break. Players and officials are scheduled to resume training on Sunday, January 4, 2026.

Earlier, the club’s technical adviser, Abdullahi Maikaba, described the away draw against Warri Wolves as a positive outcome. Wikki Tourists fought back to secure a 2-2 draw against the Wolves in Ozoro on Sunday.

Despite the result, Wikki Tourists are currently on a six-game winless run in the league, recording four draws and two defeats.

“The plan was to pick the maximum points, but getting a draw away from home is still encouraging,” Maikaba told Wikki Tourists media.

Having finished the first stanza in 14th position, the Bauchi Elephants will be hoping to end their winless run when the second stanza begins in January.
