The corpses of five people who were killed on allegations of being witches and wizards have been exhumed by the police in Cross River State for investigation.
The command’s spokesman, Irene Ugbo, who confirmed the exhumation, said, “The murder of the suspects is barbaric and unacceptable. We will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the arrested suspects face the full weight of the law.”

Daily Trust Saturday reports that youths in Ndong Nwong community in Odukpani LGA accused and beat three women and two men: Iquo Edet Eyo, Michael Robert, Etim Ekpenyong Ekpo, Akang Eyo and Atim Ekpo, to death.
Witnesses said the victims were tortured to extract confessional statements from them before they were killed.
Daily Trust Saturday further learnt that from police investigation it was discovered that those that murdered the victims took their corpses to a forest and buried them in an unmarked grave.
