Withdraw your book and shred it to pieces, Bode George tells Bisi Akande

A former Deputy National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George

As more angry reactions trailed “My participations”, the autobiography of former Interim National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Bisi Akande, a former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, on Thursday called on Akande to “withdraw the book, shred it to pieces and apologise.”

George, who is the Atona Oodua of Yorubaland, however, called for ceasefire, asking those attacked in the book to sheathe their swords.

He spoke in a chat with newsmen in Lagos on the sidelines of a reception for the convener of Lagos4Lagos Movement, Mr. Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, who recently joined the PDP.

George spoke hours after the Afenifere leader, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, responded angrily to Akande’s book, dismissing the allegations against him in the controversial.

Akande had said Adebanjo pestered former Lagos Governor Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to build his Lekki House.

According to the former Osun Governor, Adebanjo is “a blank politically-minded leader who does not have what it takes to contest political positions.”

On the issue of restructuring, Akande noted that what APC promised was devolution of power and not restructuring.

Chief George who expressed dismay over the development called for calm and asked Akande to apologise openly while withdrawing the book.

He also promised to prevail on another Yoruba leader, Chief Olu Falae not to react to the book as he has promised to do.

“Baba Akande must apologise openly because people are reacting. In fact Chief Falae was so angry and he said he was going to take his time to react. I want to plead with Baba Falae….

“You know the worst thing was, of all those statements made he was now praising Bola Tinubu…”

He said the younger generation is watching the present episode and called on the leaders to sheathe their swords, saying they should not be washing their dirty linens outside.
