The new governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru yesterday urged his political opponents in the 18th March 2023 governorship election to withdraw their suits in court and join hands to develop the state under his reign in office.
Nwifuru made this appeal during his inaugural speech at Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium, Abakaliki where he was sworn in as the new governor of the state.
He said his administration would embrace genuine ideas not only from his party followers but from the opposition for better governance.
His words: “I want to use this opportunity to urge all those who contested with me in the last governorship election to withdraw their suits and join me in my administration as the governor of the state.

“I also want to inform you that the confidence you build in me is a huge surprise to me and I hereby surround myself with you by running the inclusive government, “he explained.
He stated that he would address the challenges in education, agriculture and build roads in rural roads of the state.
Earlier, the former governor, David Umahi in his farewell speech appealed to those who have stepped on their toes during the course of his eight years in office to forgive him.
Umahi also called on the people of the state to support the new administration led by the former speaker of the state.
The Chief Judge of the State, Justice Elvis Ngene, administered the oath of allegiance and office to the new governor including the deputy governor, Mrs Patricia Obila.
Obila became the first woman deputy governor of the state since its creation.
