Although, ‘Johnny’ star, Alade is receiving her first nod for the category, this is a second for ‘Love my baby’ crooner, Wizkid, which he won in 2012.
Leading the pack of nominations are Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj with six nominations each.
Brown is nominated in categories including: Best Male R&B/Pop Artiste, Best Collaboration, Video of the Year, and the Coca-Cola Viewers’ Choice Award.
Minaj received nods for Best Collaboration, Best Female Hip-Hop Artiste, Video of the Year, Coca-Cola Viewers’ Choice Award, and Best Group as a member of Young Money.
Their nominations are closely followed by Beyoncé’s and Lil Wayne’s who both receive four nominations each, while other multiple nominees include Big Sean, Usher and ‘Stay with me’ singer, Sam Smith.
In its 15th year, the awards will take place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 28.
