A woman, her two children and a police officer have been killed in an accident on the Ojoo-Iwo Road in Ibadan, the Oyo State.

Daily Trust learnt that the victims were walking by the roadside near a bus stop when a commercial vehicle rammed into them.

Our correspondent learnt that the woman, suspected to be in her 40s, backed a two-year-old baby while holding another.

A witness said, “What surprised me was that someone alighted from the vehicle. It was not even up to one minute that the accident occurred.

“The two children died instantly while the mother and the police officer were rushed to the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan. I was around the place when the man that took them to the hospital came back to inform us that they both died at the UCH.

“The particulars and other personal belongings of the woman indicated that her husband works directly with the Commissioner for Justice.”

When contacted, the police spokesman in the state, Adewale Osifeso, said investigation was ongoing and that updates would be provided accordingly.
