Woman, 30, docked over attempted murder

An Ado-Ekiti chief magistrate court yesterday ordered that a 30-year-old woman, Adenike Olowookere be remanded in prison custody for alleged attempted murder.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Bankole Olasunkanmi, told the court that on September 9, 2019 in Ado-Ekiti, Olowookere beat her mother-in law, Mrs Comfort Olowookere, 63, into coma and the old woman was rushed to a hospital.
Olasunkanmi urged the court to remand the defendant in prison pending legal advice from the office of the Ondo State Director of Public Prosecution.
No plea was taken from the defendant.
The chief magistrate, Mr Abdulhamid Lawal, ordered the remand of the defendant and adjourned the case till October 17, 2019 for mention.
