A woman, Hadiza Bala a.k.a. Mama Sabir, a resident of Peter Sarki Road, Tunga Area of Minna, Niger State, has been arrested by police for allegedly pouring hot water on her fellow tenant.

The suspect was said to have had a disagreement with her neighbour, whose children allegedly defecated close to her room.

The spokesperson for the Niger State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the arrest to our correspondent, stating that the victim sustained severe burns on her body.

According to Abiodun, “On August 9, 2025, at about 9 pm, a female victim from Peter Sarki Road, Tunga Minna, reported at the Tudun-Wada Division that on August 7, 2025, at about 12 pm, her neighbor, one Hadiza Bala a.k.a. Mama Sabir of the same address, had an altercation with her because of her children’s feces close to Mama Sabir’s room, which was later settled.”

The police spokesperson added that “on August 9, 2025, at about 8 pm, Mama Sabir targeted her within the compound and poured hot water on her body. As a result, she sustained serious injuries on her face and chest. The suspect was immediately arrested.”
