A woman has killed a three-year-old child of her neighbour by pouring hot water on him at New Karu in Karu Local Government Area (LGA) of Nasarawa State.

The father of the victim, Okanga Ogbu Kinsley, said the woman poured the hot water which she adulterated with a substance on the child on September 7.

He said the boy was rushed to the Medical Centre, Mararaba, but was referred to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Keffi, Nasarawa State, where he died some hours later.

City & Crime further learnt that the case was reported at the New Nyanya Police Division, Nasarawa State, and that it was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Lafia, Nasarawa State, where the suspect and her sister are said to have been detained.

A family source told our reporter that earlier in the week, the police dispatched officers to the compound for further investigation.

There was no response from the Nasarawa State Police Command on the incident at the time of filing this report.
