Woman accused of poisoning husband

Confusion has continued to trail the death of one Musa Dogon-Kwalli, 50, of BCJ area of Funtua town, Katsina State.

Kwalli, who died on Sallah day, was alleged to have been poisoned and killed by one of his wives identified simply as Shamsiya, while others say he died of a heart attack.

Daily Trust gathered that Shamshiya is now on the run.

Witnesses said Dogon-Kwalli was rushed to the hospital after eating a meal purportedly presented to him by the wife.

Dogon-Kwalli, who has since been buried according to Islamic rites, was said to have been for long under threat by the wife for his new marriage.

The wife was angered and disturbed since Dogon-Kwalli added a new bride. She, to the hearing of many, had threatened to kill him.

However, another source said when Dogon-Kwalli was taken to the hospital a doctor said he wasn’t poisoned but died as a result of heart attack.

He said Shamshiyya has been found and returned to her matrimonial home.

When contacted the spokesman of Katsina Police Command DSP Gambo Isah promised to make enquiries and get back but never did up to the time of going to press.
