The Nigeria Police have arrested one Mrs. Florence Chukwuma over an alleged attempt to set her husband, Chinedu, on fire.
The mother of five was accused of trying to kill her husband following the duo’s disagreement over a property at the Ejigbo area of the state.
The police said the suspect, who was estranged from her husband, had poured a keg of petrol on the husband before he escaped by scaling the fence of the house, sustaining minor injuries in the process.
The suspect denied the allegation, but she was also accused of destroying the couple’s property worth millions of Naira.
The victim who said he had been married to the suspect for the past 18 years, said he had earlier filed for a divorce before a Lagos High Court, adding that their marriage collapsed due to her incessant harassment and fighting.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Dolapo Badmos, said investigation into the case was on-going.
