A woman who beat her three-year-old girl granddaughter to death in Amikwo, Awka South LGA of Anambra State, has been arrested.

The woman was said to have beaten the minor to death and dumped her corpse inside a bush.

In a viral video, a dead child is found dumped in a bush in Amikwo, Awka.

According to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Anambra Command, the woman has confessed to the crime.

Confirming the arrest, spokesman of the police in the state, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, said NAPTIP arrested the woman and handed her over to the police.

He also said that the victim’s body had been recovered from the bush.
