Operatives of the Imo State Police Command have arrested a 27-year-old woman, Oluchi Nzemechi, for allegedly stabbing her lover, Kelechi Nzemechi (31), to death.
The command’s spokesman, Henry Okoye, said the suspect claimed that her lover lured her into internet fraud, aka yahoo yahoo.
He said, “On June 2, 2024, the suspect had a heated argument with the victim for failing to give her a share of an alleged 250 million rupiah they fraudulently obtained from someone in Indonesia.
Okoye said the suspect used a kitchen knife to stab the victim on the upper part of his body and that in the bid to cover up her criminal act, she wrote on a piece of paper: “You think you can eat my money and go free, I am baba for the boys, I am coming for your wife and your child, including your family,” placed it on the corpse and ran away.
Okoye further said that the suspect claimed to have been living with the victim since 2019 and had a child for him.
He said effort was being intensified to recover the alleged 250 million Indonesian rupiah for a possible return to the owner.
He added that, “The suspect is currently undergoing an investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) and will be arraigned in court.”
