A Sokoto State magistrate’s court has sentenced a 26-year-old woman, Sakina Mohammed, to six months imprisonment for theft, housebreaking and criminal conspiracy. 

The accused was said to be among four persons that broke into the room of one Faith Pius and stole N27,000.

The three others, Nehemiah Emmanuel, Victoria Njoku and Monday Njoku had admitted to the offence and were convicted for the term of three months’ imprisonment while Sakina denied the allegations against her.  Subsequently, the prosecution called witnesses to testify against her.

Delivering judgement in the case, Chief Magistrate Abubakar Adamu sentenced the convict to six months imprisonment for theft and six months imprisonment for housebreaking, adding that the sentences would run concurrently.
