Woman charged with assault, conspiracy

A 34-year-old woman, Ajasa Dorcas, was on Wednesday, arraigned before an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun State on charges of alleged assault and conspiracy.

Dorcas, whose address was not provided, however,  pleaded not guilty to both counts.

The prosecutor, ASP E.O. Adaraloye, told the court that the defendant committed the offences at about 6pm on February 13 at the Eko Block Bus Stop, Lafenwa Itele, Ota.

Adaraloye stated that the defendant, along with others still at large, conspired to assault the complainant, Modester Michael, causing injuries to his face. 

The prosecutor noted that the offences contravene Sections 355 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.

The Magistrate, Mrs. O.O. Fadairo, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.

The magistrate adjourned the case until March 11, for hearing. (NAN)
