A 20-year-old Adelanke Tiwalope has been arraigned before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for alleged assault and stealing.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Oriyomi Akinwale, told the court yesterday that the defendant and three others at large committed the offence on December 7, 2020, around 09:00 am at Erinfun Quarters, Poly Road, in Ado-Ekiti.
The prosecutor alleged that the defendant and three others at large assaulted one Adejayan Ayomide by beating her and inflicted injuries on her body.
Akinwale also alleged that the defendant and three others at large stole Iphone XR phone valued at N250,000, four wigs, shoes, bags, clothes valued at N110,000.
Other items stolen are: a cash sum of N40, 000, total valued 400,000 and two bank ATMs belonging to the complainant.
According to him, the offences contravened Sections 252 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.
The prosecutor asked the court for an adjournment to enable him to study the case file and present his witnesses.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate adjourned the case until December 22, 2020, for hearing.
