On Passion

“An entrepreneur should have passion for what he or she does. My love for what I do keeps me going. I tell people that my job is a hobby. I enjoy doing it. I don’t see it as a business alone but a hobby. When it’s going up, I am enjoying it, when it’s going down; I am equally enjoying and looking for ways to make it rise again. This is what I want to do, and I put my heart into it and I am enjoying it. When I set a goal, I try to achieve it.”

On innovation

“I am very open and I accept innovations. If I need to invest in technology like my competitors are doing, I invest in technology. If I need to be more sociable, I do that. I am very flexible but sticking to my goals and passion. I started off by buying and selling Islamic materials but now I have diversified into publishing and turban-making which is very interesting as well.  I have to innovate more ideas than restrict myself to only buying and selling. That keeps me going in business.”
