A middle aged woman was killed and six others sustained injuries in two road crashes on Abuja Lokoja road.

A witness said the woman died in the accident that occurred at Aseni Village. He said two others sustained injuries.

He said the accident took place at about 8pm and it involved a J5 Peugeot bus with registration number EKY 582 XE.

He said the driver was speeding when he hit a pothole, lost control, summersaulted and crashed into a ditch killing the woman on the spot, while the driver and one other passenger sustained injuries.

He said the corpse of the woman was taken to Federal Medical Centre in Lokoja and that the two injured were receiving treatment at Ideal Clinic in Koton Karfe.

Similarly, four persons were injured in another accident which occurred on the same day at Chikara village on the same road.

A witness said the accident happened at 7:12pm and it involved two Sienna buses, one with registration number AFK 595 XB and the other without number plate.

He said one of the buses lost control while on speed and collided with the other oncoming bus at a diversion.

He said the four injured were taken to the Abaji General Hospital.

When contacted, the Abaji Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), ACC Olasupo Esuruoso, confirmed the two crashes, which he attributed to speed limit violation and loss of control.
