An Ekiti State magistrates’ court sitting in Ado-Ekiti has ordered the remand of a 55-year-old woman, Abereoje Idowu, over the murder of a man, Abere Olaniyi Olarewaju (28) in Ilawe Ekiti.
The prosecutor, Inspector Elijah Adejare, said the defendant committed conspiracy to murder and murder on April 19.

Insp Elijah urged the court to allow the police to complete investigation and send the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
In a statement to the police, one of the witnesses said there was a misunderstanding between the accused and the deceased.
The witness said Idowu and her daughter, Abereoje Ademola, beat up Olarewaju, stabbed him and left him unconscious. He added that Olarewaju was rushed to the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti, but died before they got there.
The Magistrate, Tomiwa Daramola, adjourned the case to May 25.
