The Falcons will travel out of Nigeria on Wednesday for the competition which starts on October 11 in Windhoek, Namibia.
Eighth time champions Nigeria had a disappointing outing the last time in Equatorial Guinea, finishing a disappointing fourth, losing to Cameroon in the third place match and failing to win the competition for only the second time since inception.
And Ordega, who plays for Pitea IF in the Swedish Women’s league, says her teammates and her must work harder because the other African teams are also getting better.
“We really have to work harder as a team because Women football in Africa is improving, and it is no longer the way it used to be,” he says.
“You can hardly see teams scoring basket full of goals now, and it is because the women’s game is getting popular on the continent and there’s a lot more awareness,” she said
The Falcons are grouped in group A, along with hosts, Namibia, Cote d’ Ivoire, and Zambia and will play their opening game on the 11th against the Ivorians.
