As part of activities to mark the Business and Professional Women Nigeria (BPW) 2016 Annual Conference, about 50 female students were trained on leadership skills.

The President of the BPW Nigeria, Mrs Angela Ajala, while analysing the theme of this year’s conference, titled: “Leaders Growing Leaders,” said that to grow leaders, you have to believe in them, care for them and nurture them.
Mrs Ajala said that part of the responsibilities of the BPW was to impart the lives of the young ones and guide them on business and professional path.

The Minister of State, Industry, Trade and Investment, Hajiya Aisha Abubakar, said that women had groomed leaders, adding:

“What makes us successful and professional women are the responsibilities we take on and the attention we pay to details.”

Hajiya Aisha said that with avalanche of great numbers of successful women across the world, it became the responsibility of women to lead by example.
One of the beneficiaries, Amaka Emmanuel of Glisten International Academy, said that “character is what builds one and it is what will take someone to higher place in life.”
