University of Uyo Women Association, (UWA) has advised newly admitted students to use the social media to build peace.
Wife of the Vice Chancellor and President of UWA, Mrs. Rosalyn Essien, warned students against using the social media to spread vulgar speeches, blackmail and lies. She encouraged them to learn to respond to issues amicable and not to react aggressively, noting that the university has put in place infrastructure for peace to curb violence.
The social media should be used to constructively influence others toward the building of a peaceful coexistence among society on campus, and not to be used as a conduit for the spread obscene speeches, blackmail and lies.
She warned students against drugs and substance abuse, immodest dressing, cultism, examination malpractices.
