The president of the Female Architects of Nigeria (FAN) Mrs. Jemmy Ogisi has called on women all over the nation to pick up architecture as a profession.
She made this call at the Biennial general meeting of the Female Architects of Nigeria in Abuja.
Ogisi said women have over the years proven to be good architects and the profession should not be left as a male dominated one.
She said that one of the challenges female architects are facing is lack of patronage from clients due to the wrong notion that men can do the work better.
While giving a keynote address, the Acting Coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), Hajiya Safiya Umar said that female architects over the years have helped in shaping the environment as well as conform with standard and regulatory codes of the profession.
