Baraka made the call at a reception organised in her honour as a recipient of the International Youth Ambassador for Peace, held at Peking Chinese Restaurant, Kano. She said Nigerians would, in the long run, reap the yields of the seven-point agenda. According to her, what the president needed was prayer for good health and the success of the seven- point but not condemnation.

She further called for peace, saying development could only be possible when there was peace in the country. “Without peace there will be no development, even investors can only go to a country that is peaceful to invest their money,” she said.

The senatorial aspirant said Nigerians should be grateful to God for keeping the country in peace. “We should thank God that Nigeria still exists as a single entity. We have not fallen into war like many of the African countries that are devastated by war and crises,” she observed.

Baraka, who contested under the PDP platform, also charged Kano PDP stalwarts to eschew bitterness and bury their differences for the progress of the party, saying disunity would not augur well for the Kano PDP.

In his speech, the former finance minister, Alhaji Ahmad Garba Bichi, tasked women on acquiring knowledge. He stated that woman could only contribute to the nation’s development when they have knowledge.
