The Chairman of Abaji Area Council, Alhaji Abdulrahman Ajiya, has called on his new cabinet members to work closely with departmental heads and the office of the chief of staff to deliver democratic dividends to the people of the council.

Ajiya, who made the call, while swearing in members of his cabinet, which comprised of supervisory councillors and special advisers, yesterday, urged them to work closely with departmental heads to move the council to the next level.

He said the appointees were chosen from each of the 10 wards of the council, adding that he had no doubt that his cabinet members shared in his commitment to work for the people of the council.

“I want to say that our primary business over the next three years is to work together towards delivering the result that the people of Abaji expect from us,” he said.

The chairman said his administration had opportunity to build on the progress already made in the quest to put Abaji on the path of steady growth and development.

Also speaking, chairman of the APC in the FCT, Alhaji Usman Abdulmalik, congratulated the newly sworn-in supervisory councillors and special advisers, saying they should see the task ahead of them as a challenging one.

The new cabinet members sworn-in included, Sunday Tukura, as supervisory councillor for Education; Abdullahi Shuaibu, supervisory councillor for Works; Alhaji Mohammed Angulu Bello, supervisory councillor for Environment; and Ahmed Isah Amshaga, as supervisory councillor for Health.

Others were, Hajiya Hawakulu, special adviser on Women Affairs; Barrister Haruna Yakubu Gana, special adviser on Security Matters; and Tanko Alfa, special adviser on Agriculture, among others.
