The Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Work, Mr. Dauda Kigbu, told contractors handling various road projects in country that the ministry has resolved all outstanding issues relating to contracts, urging the contractors to execute their jobs.
A statement issued by the ministry’s director of information, Bisi Agbonhin, said that the ministry was handicapped by the national budget and dwindling revenue available to government.
It stated that the ministry appreciated the efforts of the federal government in confronting the challenges, particularly of funding. The Kigbu, while meeting with contractors in Abuja, revealed that the contractors have resolved to maintain some level of presence at project sites across the nation to ensure good motorable roads.
The statement said that contractors who attended the meeting included Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, CCECC Nigeria Limited, Gitto Construzioni General Nigeria Limited and Borini Prono & Co. Nigeria Limited. Others include : Arab Contractors Nigeria Limited, Bulletine Construction Nigeria Limited, Mothercat Construction Limited and P. W Nigeria Limited.
