World Bank awards N12.8bn research grant to 10 Nigerian varsities

Professor Okojie, who made the disclosure at a press briefing, said it was a thing of joy that of the 18 universities that won the grant in the Central and West Africa, 10 were from Nigeria.
He urged the vice chancellors of the universities and the project heads of the research to make good use of the grant.
The areas of research the grant will fund are Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Health Sciences and Agricultural Sciences.
The 10 selected universities to benefit are, Redeemers University Mowe, Ogun State, University of Ibadan,  African University of Science and Technology, Abuja,  Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, University of Jos, University of Benin, University of Port-Harcourt, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Bayero University, Kano and Benue State University, Makurdi.
