The World Bank has disbursed N28million to 15 Primary Healthcare Centres and a General Hospital in Dass Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
The Executive Secretary of the State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (SPHDA), Pharmacist Adamu Ibrahim Gamawa disclosed this at a press briefing in Bauchi yesterday.
He said that the disbursement was under the World Bank-funded, Nigeria States Health Investment Project (NSHIP) which was aimed at repositioning healthcare facilities to render effective primary healthcare services.
Gamawa said that Dass was selected for the pilot project which would be gradually extended to other local government areas of the state.
According to him, N13million was earlier disbursed to the Primary Health Centres and the additional N15million will be disbursed based on the assessment of their performance and utilisation of the funds.
