About 500 km lengths of rural feeder roads are to be constructed by the World Bank supported Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) in collaboration with the Katsina State government. 

The feeder roads will be constructed across the 34 local government areas (LGAs) in the state.

Speaking at a one day workshop, Governor Aminu Masari said the state government was committed towards opening the vast areas for massive transportation of agricultural commodities to towns for onward exportation. 

Represented by the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy, Abdulkadir Zakka, Masari said the collaboration was intended to uplift and boost commercial activities at the rural areas.

In his remarks, the National Coordinator of RAAMP, Engr. Ulavanus Ubandoma, said 18 states of the federation are taking part in the project that will take off this quarter.

He said the training workshop was designed to sensitize the stakeholders on the activities lined up for the project adding that “it will outline each and everyone’s roles with a view to achieving the set target.”
