World Bank to empower N/East youth, women

World Bank has organized two days meeting  on additional financing for Youth Empowerment and Social Support Operations (YESSO) and the Community and Social Development Programme (CSDP) for North -east states In Gombe State as part of effort to support Federal Government in rebuilding North- east as a result of insurgency that affected the region.
 Declaring the meeting open Gombe State Governor Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo said  the need for social support programmes for the poor and vulnerable segment of population and the provision of rural infrastructure especially in North -east  has become pertinent in the face of the current challenge facing the region.
Represented by his Deputy, Mr Charles Iliya, Dankwambo ssured for sustainable partnership with development partners that identify with the development aspirations of the state and the North -east.
In his remark, Professor Foluso Okunmadewa, the team leader of the programme  said that the purpose of the meeting was to support the Federal Government in its effort for developing the North as a result of insurgency.
The participants were drawn from Bauchi, Borno, Yobe, Gombe, Taraba and Adamawa states.
