The World Justice  Project has declared its commitment to building a worldwide community dedicated to realizing justice for all.

This was part of its commitment at the end of the World Justice Forum which held at The Hague, Netherlands between April 29 and May 2, 2019.

A statement from the organization yesterday, said the World Justice Forum Concluding Declaration was made by WJP’s chief research officer, Alejandro Ponce, in which Forum participants reaffirmed their commitment to justice for all.

The statement explained that a new Justice for All report revealed new data, in its ‘Measuring the Justice Gap’, “showing that 5 billion people have unmet justice needs globally.”

“This includes people who cannot obtain justice for everyday problems, people who are excluded from the opportunity the law provides, and people who live in extreme conditions of injustice. The launch of the report sparked new thinking on the opportunity for a people-centered approach and the need for global action to close the justice gap,” the statement said.

“In response, governments, organizations, and individuals joined in showcasing their justice initiatives and Commitmentf to Justice at the conclusion of the World Justice Forum. These declarations of further action to accelerate implementation of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16 set the pace for outcomes that will feed directly into the UN High Level Political Forum on SDG 16 in July and the UN Summit on the SDGs in September.

“As the premier international event for the rule of law, the World Justice Forum convened governmental and non-governmental actors, private sector leaders, and members of the donor community from more than 70 countries and 300+ organizations worldwide—all focused on the promise of realizing justice for all.”
