The World Justice Project (WJP) has announced its first state-level study on Rule of Law in Mexico in 2018.

In an emailed message by the WJP, the launch is expected to hold on October 9 and seeks to measure the adherence to the rule of law in all the 32 states of Mexico using the same methodological framework.

“The study reflects the perspectives and opinions of more than 25,000 citizens and 1,500 experts from across the country, providing original data and indicators organized around eight factors: Constraints on Government Powers, Absence of Corruption, Open Government, Fundamental Rights, Order and Security, Regulatory Enforcement, Civil Justice and Criminal Justice,” the WJP statement said.

Rule of law, especially its intersection with the criminal justice system, is very critical to democratic governance.
