Ko won the event in 2021 but will not have the opportunity to win back-to-back titles. Ko’s representatives announced on Tuesday that she would pass on the next several tournaments to rest the wrist.

Ko is currently undergoing medical treatments on her wrist that were recommended by her doctor, Golfweek reported. The BMW Ladies Championship is scheduled for October 20-23 in her native South Korea.

The timeline means she also will miss the Ascendent LPGA event from September 29 – October 2, where she is also the reigning champion.
