Worrisome 40% COVID-19 vaccination in FCT

This call is to reawaken the consciousness of residents of the FCT that our guards should not be lowered because we’re not where we’re supposed to be regarding the COVID-19 vaccination.

This is because the virus is still very much around and still ravaging all parts of the country. The complacent attitude of Nigerians to COVID-19 vaccines is very dangerous and worrisome to the well-being of the nation.

Recent statistics indicate that 30 new cases were just discovered in the FCT. This raises the need to further break the circle by going for the Scales 3.0 COVID-19 mass vaccination in various health centres of the federal capital city.

This new vaccination, which was recently flagged off, comes as a supplement to the 1st, 2nd, and booster doses that were previously administered and aims at ensuring a break-off of the circle of COVID-19 spread.

Nigerians have stopped coming out to be vaccinated against the disease thereby constituting a serious threat to public health.

With only 40 per cent achieved from the initially targeted 1.5 million population in the FCT, there then is the need to call on residents to help prevent the spread of the virus and further protect ourselves.

Nigeria cannot afford to let down its guard as far as COVID-19 is concerned.
