WOTCLEF national coordinator Veronica Umaru told rallying students at Government Secondary School, Abuja there was need for more sensitization on trafficking because some people are still in the dark about it and continue to fall prey to traffickers.
In comments marking International Day Against Human Trafficking, organised in collaboration with youth corps members on community development service, she said the fight against human trafficking would be stronger when all Nigerians join relevant stakeholders in sensitizing people around them about it and saying no to human trafficking.
National President of the Network Against Trafficking, Abuse and Child labour (NACTAL), Adaramola Emmanuel, said in order to get more people sensitized and join in the fight against human trafficking, his association targets to sensitize about 15 million people about human trafficking.
Children and their parents need to know why to say no to trafficking, said Adeola Temitope, president of WOTCLEF CDS group of corps members, adding, it was the right of every Nigerian child to go to school and not be trafficked or used as househelp.
