The chairman of the Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA), Professor Auwalu Yadudu, has denied report that he has resigned his position. 

A letter dated August 5, 2018, had claimed that Prof Yadudu resigned as ECNBA chairman to save his integrity and reputation after “unnecessary annoyance and litigation”.

But in an interview with Daily Trust, Pof Yadudu said the online letter was a figment of the author’s immagination.

“It criminal forgery that he is being investigated by the police. I am still attending meetings with members of the committee and the president.” 

The NBA election has come under scrutiny after it was postponed on at least three occasions following the failure of the ICT partner to conclude the verification and authentication of the Voters List until the appointment of another firm, Crenet TechLab.  

There has also been the disqualification of some candidates for the election, which made the former General Secretary, Mazi Afam Osigwe, to go to court to challenge the election.
